Strip grafts or transplants are outpatient treatments involving removal of a part of the scalp which is still producing hair, segmentation of the removed section of scalp, and grafting of those segments into the area that needs hair. Types of grafting differ with the amounts of hair being grafted.
Micro-grafting – One to four hairs per graft.
Slit grafting – 10 to 15 hairs per graft.
Punch grafting – 30 to 40 hairs per graft.
Scalp reduction – Removing the bald part of the scalp and stretching the hair producing part over the remaining part of the head.
Laser treatment – light that stimulates hair follicles for regrowth.
